Our pre-clearance surveys combine daytime habitat assessment, targeted species searches, breeding-place inspection (hollow trees, burrows, nests) and mapped waypoints for every significant find.

When to schedule it
A pre-clearance survey is scheduled as close as possible to the start of vegetation removal. For larger clearing envelopes we can run rolling surveys across multiple staging areas so each area is surveyed just before it is cleared.
Survey validity
Pre-clearance and targeted survey reports are valid for 72 hours from completion of the survey. If habitat interference activities can't be carried out within this timeframe, a new survey will be required, as animals can move into the area and habitat features can change. Let us know early if your clearing dates shift and we will reschedule the survey to line up with the works.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a pre-clearance survey take?
Most sites are surveyed in 1–2 days per 10 ha of clearing envelope. Complex habitat, large hollow trees or threatened species detections extend the field time and are quoted transparently.
Do you supply the ecologist's CV with the report?
Yes. Every deliverable is signed by the surveying ecologist and CV/licence copies are supplied on request for the compliance file.
How long is a pre-clearance or targeted survey report valid for?
72 hours from completion of the survey. If interference activities can't be carried out in that window, a new survey will be required before works go ahead, because animals can move in and habitat features can change in the meantime.
